Pac Man and the Ghostly Adventures

I know this show is aimed at kids but lets get straight to it the story plot contains a lot of holes. for example,

  • Why did Betrayus want to take over Pac World in the first place, there has to be a reason other wise Betrayus falls under the typical villain trope.

Fanfic theory:

Was there already something in Pac world that triggered a war. Maybe the economy was bad or there might have been some social issues between the yellow pacs and the other pacs. This would make for a decent plot because Pac Man World 1 and 2 and Pac Man Party there are only yellow pacs present, this indicates that there were only yellows to begin with. At some point these non-yellow pacs started coming around and maybe some yellow pacs did not like this and were planning against the non-yellows in secrete. There were pacs that believed this and pacs who did not want to, because the yellow pacs were suppose to be protectors of Pac World. Some how Betrayus found out about it, form an army of pacs who wanted social change, this would explain why Pac worlders would turn against Pac World and started a rebellion.

  • If all of the ghost in the under world are from Betrayus’s army that means that there were no ghost before Betrayus and his army to harass Pac Worlders in the first place. I could be wrong but it was never explained in the TV series.
  • The show has not yet explained why some pac worlders joined Betrayus at all.
  • Why is Betrayus’s mother playing favoritism between her 2 sons?

So far non of these plot holes have been filled in yet, hopefully the rest of the series will explain some of the plot line before the series ends.

Spyro A Hero’s Tail: Reveiw

Good Stuff1335852585-00

  • The environment looks great it was well thought out.
  • Spyro has a double jump
  • Spyro is able to carry items, like keys and extra hit jars.
  • The gems were used as currency
  • There were dragon that were Spyro’s age
  • The music was good.
  • They finally put those yellow scales down Spyros back.
  • Spyro also stands on his hind toes like most quadrupeds do.

Bad Stuff, and there’s a lot

  • Spyro’s eyes are too small
  • Spyro could not fly what so ever in this game
  • Sergeant Bird replaced Spyro in the flight levels.
  • Red’s head was out of proportion with the rest of his body, his horns where far too big.
  • There where no natives for Spyro to talk to.
  • Spyro’s wings should have looked more like the wings from Skylanders.
  • MoneyBags is still a leech.
  • The fact that Ember was a love interest, which was not appealing at all because they still made her out to be a pink prick anyway.
  • The dragon eggs look like easter eggs.
  • There was no female elder and no the nanny does not count, because the word elder is not  in front of here name, like the others. She has no light gem staff nor does she teach Spyro any new moves. Here was Eurocoms chance to put a female elder in the series and they passed it up. Just like the rest of them.
  • The fact that Ember and Flame played such meaningless roles in the game was a disappointment.
  • Gnasty Gnork should have been more threatening.

Another thing I noticed in the game is that the 2nd half of the game feels rushed. The 3rd world ( Icy Wilderness) only had 2 and a half levels, the hub, the fortress, and Hunters Cave exploration. Hunters level felt like a half level because it was a point A to point B game play there really was no exploration.

And the way Red was defeated was a little anticlimactic.

Croc 2: Review

Croc_2

Good Stuff

  • In this game Croc is able to bounce from a stomp, this move gives Croc more air time then a regular jump would, unlike the first game
  • The ability to operate vehicles.
  • Completing tasks for inhabitants. This keeps the game from being too linear.
  • A more complex storyline.
  • Using the gems as currency.
  • Talking with inhabitants.
  • The environments was more detailed.
  • Controls are better

Bad Stuff

  • The Danitis minions are ugly, unlike the first game, then looked cute yet mildly threatening.
  • The Gobbos went from being cute little fuzzy things to tailless, hairy little men.
  • Swap Pete is annoying as fuck. He talks too much and his items are too pricy.
  • By the time you get to the Inca hub world you can tell the game was rushed, by the lack of levels in that hub world.

Escape from Planet Earth: Review

The Good

  • the aesthetics were done pretty well in this movie, for example, the alien city at night-time was colorful and it was believable.

The Bad

  • where to start, there are so many fuck ups.
  • The pop cultural references really distracted from the movie, every time I was really getting into the movie a character would do something taking a selfie or some stupid slap stick joke, like when that one alien kept getting hit by the broom. all of those things really cheapen the plot.
  • The pop music really didn’t help either with the quality of the movie.
  • The character felt really generic.
  • Scorch was to much of an idiot to be an astronaut
  • The main protagonist was just your average under dog/joe blow.
  • The son was a brat,
  • The other supporting characters where just there for laughs and had no depth to their personality.
  • the main antagonist was just your typical bad guy, and yes he did have a back story but it was reduced to a joke.
  •  The alien antagonist, first of all it was never really explained as to why she would turn on her on race of people just to be some psychopathic human. Even if she was in love with this human wouldn’t she have had a back up plan just in-case things go wrong with this human. NO instead the movie makes her out to be this naive idiot.
  • The ending was anticlimactic.

Ideas for Spyro the Dragon

Here are some more of my ideas for a Spyro the Dragon game.

  1. Cynder, Ember and Flame should be playable characters in a future Spyro game
  2. Spyro should be able to fly anywhere at any time, not like in Dawn of the Dragon but more like how he was able to get around in the Speedway levels from the classic Spyro series. The levels should be designed for a flying character while maintaining the classic design.
  3. In order to balance out the flying mechanic the should be an energy gauge, similar to Yoshi’s gauge in Super Mario Sunshine. Or perhaps the main villain put a spell on Spyro’s flight ability and an Elder would have to left the spell.
  4. There should be natives in every world to keep the levels from feeling to empty.

Well this is all I have for right now, I will try to post more ideas soon.

Cartoon Critic: Galaxy High

classphoto2

This critic is pointing out some the flaws of Galaxy High, a cartoon TV series from the 1980s. know don’t get me wrong i really like this series but there are things i really did not like about the show.

  1. the fact that 2 humans willingly went along to enroll in an alien school, but when did Earth become apart of an intergalactic educational transfer program. The show never explains this.
  2. Milo is just a human with 6 arms. He really isn’t an alien more so a mutant.
  3. The Creep is an obsessed pervert.
  4. the series seem to focus on Doyle more then Amy, even though the intro of the show implies that both Amy and Doyle are the main protagonist not just Doyle.
  5. in the 1st episode Amy went from looking like a like a human being to looking like a space babe. this implies that Amy wasn’t good enough for the show so they changed her. this sends a negative messages.

note: Doyles’s image remained the same through out the entire series.

Ideas for Spyro Games

To often I think about how I could make a better game for the Spyro series, so here are some ideas.

Spyro should breath fire, as always, he could use his wings to generate gales of wind to blow enemies or obstacles away depending on their size. Spyro could create earthquakes using his horn dive or shoot water at enemies or to solve puzzles and the ability to shoot water attacks underwater.

The wings need to be more realistic, something like the wings from Skylanders’s Spyro. Now I’m not a big fan of the Skylander games, but those wings where the best I have seen through out the entire Spyro series.

Elemental powers
• Water
• Earth
• Wind
• Fire
To many time have I seen the elements Water and Earth be ignored they are just an unnecessary addition, and wind never had a chance.

Note: Electricity, Ice, and Bubbles are not element, at least in my opinion.

Retro Ideas- Croc the Videogame

Title card for Croc: Legend of the Gobbos

Ah Croc, this game was one of my favorite games and also one of my first games behind Crash Bandicoot and Spyro the Dragon.

Croc is a 1990’s videogame 3D platformer, about a crocodile who is raised by little furry things called Gobbos. After Croc grows up and one day Baron Dante and his minions attacked gobbos village and now its up to Croc to save them.

If there ever was a third installment, it should be about Croc always having to save the Gobbos and one day he has had enough and decides to take a siesta. But of course the Dantis take advantage of this and began to raid the village.
Either that or do a remake of Croc1.

Remix – Art

Remix Video
Summary
There was a RE/Mixed media Festival in 2010. It was meanly about getting artist to discuss policy related things, Such as creativity, copyright issues, and remixing arts. Other things like how corporation are taking over creative and liberal arts. There were intellectuals and artist. Both sides learned new things from each other. There was tension in both groups because one group felt the other group was contradicting their beliefs. Which was the whole point of the conference, people were supposed to get their opinion out there in the opened, so people can discuss the issue and find a way to solve it together.
Response
I would like to attend a RE/Mixed media Festival. Learning new things from different people or learning something I already knew but from a different point of view. I find it interesting that there is an event for people from both the artistic and science communities, where they can come together and share their ideas. Having debates about different ideas and I do not mind watching a few arguments here and there. I find them very entertaining. Aside from all that attending a festival like this would not only be fun in itself but it will also be a new and challenge experience.
